REAL CONTENT FOR REALTY FIRM
I’ve helped lots of folks with writing, from application essays to demand letters. I’ve even helped realtors write their bios, so they don’t sound. so. sad. and. boring. For this Carrboro Boutique firm, though, I had the opportunity to help them rewrite all of their web and print content, and it was a fun process that resulted in realty copy that, I swear here, isn’t like all other really copy. These folks had gone through many other writers.
To move their content, to make it really their own, I had to do some client education. For example, saying you offer “exceptional service,” is how you may feel inside your passionate heart, but that phrase actually means nothing. Nada. Zippo. Everybody says they offer exceptional service, so the content needs to show that without claiming it outright.
We used google drive for this collaborative work. It was efficient; nothing got lost in email; and we could easily track versions. Needless to say, they’re not looking for other writers anymore, and they’re also hiring me to rebuild their site and work on some of their firms’ procedures, to get everything streamlined and ready for growth.
