LOI SHINE UP

A recent client asked me to overhaul her resume and letter of interest for a high level job. She is more than qualified, but her draft letter was blah, blah, and formulaic, and her resume didn’t guide the viewer at all, in terms of hierarchy of information. In just over two hours, I sent her a final draft of both, and she was able to send off a much more confident letter that more accurately reflected her qualifications and enthusiasm.

This client, an expert in her field, knows her strengths and her weaknesses. She was just too busy to put in the time it would take her to get these documents where they needed to be, and, in the end, she said that she couldn’t have done what I did, no matter how much time she had. The job, for which she’s currently on second round interviews, doesn’t need her to be the best writer, and she knows she can always call on me for help, if need be.
